How to get remote access, and file transfer for free

In this article, I’m going to describe how to get remote control, and file transfer options on each computer for free. This is very simple. I love logmein.com as I said before, but I think $12.95 a month is a bit high just to have file transfer capabilities (though the $12.95 includes file, printing, and sound capabilities) at least for me. To do this I’d recommend you first read my logmein article and my foldershare article, then follow the steps below. Though this doesn’t allow true file transfer capabilities, it will help you get a file to a pc, and vice versa. Click on the read more tag below for the step by step.
Now the Steps

1. Create a outbound folder on your pc, and all your remote pcs.

2. Then install foldershare on your pc, and all your remote pcs.

3. Then go to foldershare and synchronize the outbound folders for each computer.

4. Now place a file in your outbound folder on your pc, and in a few minutes (depending on the file size) the same file should be available on all your remote pcs.

Now that the file is available on all your computers in the outbound folder, just use logmein to copy the file to the folder you want. This avoids you paying the $12 bucks a months, takes a bit more work to setup at first. The next time you want to copy a file to your remote pcs, just place it in your pc’s outbound folder and whola in a few minutes it’s in your remote pc’s outbound folder also.

Most of you may know this already, but I didn’t. You can printscreen just a window by doing the following with no additional software. I always print screened and cropped the window. Now I’m feeling pretty stupid not knowing this, so I thought I’d share the knowledge for those of you who are like me and didn’t know. Below I’ve described the steps to do this.

Steps to Printscreen

1. Make the window you want printscreened, active.

2. Click on alt + printscreen together.

3. Paste it in your favorite image editor such as MsPaint, Photochop, etc.

Fooling around online gadget stuff this weekend with my Bro and he showed me something cool. Have you ever find a great comedy clip on you tube, or a motivational video clips and you want to listen to just the audio content while your exercising or when you’re driving. We’ll he showed me a cool web app to do the conversion of YOUTUBE clips to MP3’s. Go to Youtube.com, find the video clip you want and cut the web address of that video clip. To do the conversion, go to http://flvto.com and paste the youtube web address of the clip and just wait for it to be converted to MP3. cool eh!
